SOMOS Selects Neighborhood Radiology as their Preferred Imaging Provider
For the first time, the 2,500 physicians and nearly 700,000 patients in the SOMOS network have a preferred imaging provider.
As a preferred provider, NRS will provide SOMOS network patients access to high-quality diagnostic, women’s and preventive imaging services in a comfortable and convenient outpatient setting, which provides for the cost-effective savings mandated by the New York State Department of Health as managed care moves toward value-based payment reform.
“Neighborhood Radiology Services is a natural choice” says Ramon Tallaj, M.D., Chairman of the Board of SOMOS. “Their mission aligns with our own, allowing us to work in concert to offer efficient, accountable care in the communities we serve.”
SOMOS selected NRS based on its ability to deliver high quality radiology services in a highly efficient, cost-effective manner. SOMOS patients are culturally and ethnically diverse, and Neighborhood has the infrastructure and multi-lingual staff needed to support them.
“We’re delighted to serve the needs of SOMOS providers and their patients,” said Daniel DiPietro, Director of Operations for Neighborhood Radiology Services. “Our locations throughout New York and Long Island, our commitment to exceptional care and our on-site doctors and staff deliver a patient experience unlike any other imaging center or network in the region.”
SOMOS is one of 25 networks throughout New York State chosen to participate in the Delivery System Reform Incentive Program (DSRIP). The program is designed to reduce waste and inefficiencies in healthcare delivery and reduce healthcare costs.
